I recommend everyone starts using "edz", which can mean either "it's" or "its" depending on context. And yes, you're free to spell it "ed'z" too. Edz pronounced "it's". Or "its", which I think usually sound the same anyway.

Just remember "it's" means "it is" and if you don't mean to say "it is" then use "its" instead! Anytime you type "it's" you should think in your head, "it is." If it doesn't make sense that way then lose the apostrophe. Thanks for the excellent grammar primer Gopher.
