What Anub!
Screw you, Giant Bug Thing.

We perfected our strategy and everybody played well.  This is what it took to destroy Anub'arak, the final challenge in the Trial of the Crusader.  The new strat was amazing and usually a set of Burrowers were dead just by incidental AoE before Anub'arak burrowed.  There were spikes, lots of bugs, more bugs, and in the end one dead Traitor King.  We made him more dead, I guess.  It was a fantastic kill.  The first time we managed to get to Phase 3 with minimal problems and only 2 burrow phases we defeated Anub'arak.  Everybody played well.  Congratulations.

After this, we broke up into two 10-mans.  It was late, and one ten man ended after Lord Jaraxxus, however one 10-man pushed on and defeated Anub'arak in 10-man mode as well, one-shotting every single boss.  This group made several attempts on Heroic Northrend Beasts, but it was getting late.  The Heroic Beasts will die some other time.  After this, a few remaining online members destroyed Koralon and the rest of Vault of Archavon.  (Koralon on 25-man mode was also defeated this week.)

Anub'arak-25 Loots:
[Trophy of the Crusade] Myrrh
[Reign of the Unliving] Bleumoon
[Maiden's Adoration] Galise
[Bracers of Dark Determination] Ashri
[Armbands of the Ashen Saint] Sindalar

Awesome night, guys!  Yogg-Saron is next.
Not One, But Two Val'kyr Defeated
Apologies, not everyone was still here for the screenshot.  I also had to take the picture relatively quick, because we used mirror images as fill-ins!  (Although it appears Bert's disappeared anyways.)  So, terrible screenshot, sorry!

On Wednesday, we managed to field dual Trial of the Crusader 10-mans.  Both teams cleared all of the content that was available at the time.  Both groups downed the Twin Val'kyr on the second try.  One group, after finishing the Trial, went on to defeat Malygos with only 8 people.  On Friday, we one-shot the Beasts and Lord Jaraxxus in 25-man mode.

We wiped a bit on the Faction Champions.  Our raid composition wasn't the best, and the Faction Champions, per usual, were annoying and had a difficult composition to defeat.  Although we had several decent attempts, we could not beat them on Friday.  We came back refreshed on Saturday and defeated the Faction Champions on the second try.  The "Double Death Grip" strategy combined with more control allowed us to quickly burn down the Horde healers and then the rest of their team.  For the Alliance!  Great job on that fight.  Particularly awesome because we didn't have a warlock available to lock down the restoration druid.  On our third try of the night, after a 4% wipe and an early wipe-out due to a mistake, we also defeated the Twin Val'kyr encounter as well!  Congratulations on progression!  We'll head back here next week and try to clear the entire instance.  After that, we will defeat Yogg-Saron!

Thanks to those who stayed around and helped a lot of us get the Razorscale achievement "Iron Dwarf, Medium Rare" in 10-man Ulduar!  We're on the path to those proto-drakes!  Edit: On Sunday, we also got Vezax Hard mode on 10-man as well as downing Yogg again!

Trail of the Crusader 25 loot this week:
[Drape of the Untamed Predator] Aishen

It's Super Effective!
Blame Blizzard for the current pun.

Bloodforged defeated Steelbreaker last in the 10-man mode of Iron Council, thus defeating the Hard Mode of that encounter.  With Steelbreaker's demise, we were able to access the Archivum and learn about the observer Algalon and the possible fate of Azeroth.

However, to get to Algalon and stop the "re-origination of Azeroth" requires defeating all the Ulduar Watchers on their hard modes to receive their Sigils.  We managed to receive Hodir and Thorim's Sigils on the very same night as the Iron Council Hard kill, showing that these encounters are most likely farm status.  We weren't quite ready for Mimiron hard mode, so we one-shot the normal mode.  We also defeated Ignis in merely 2 minutes to grant several people the achievement "Stoking the Furnace" which is part of the meta-achievement for the Rusted Proto Drake.  We tried a new strat for Ignis which made it ridiculously easy, and I wonder if the strat can translate into 25-man mode.  (Which is basically ignoring the constructs altogether.)

We're on the path to defeating more hard-mode encounters and getting drakes for the guild!  Congratulations.  This Ulduar-10 raid ID will be extended so we can try Freya and Vezax hard modes, as well as getting another Yogg kill on 10-man.

Hard Mode Loot:
[The Masticator] Guran
[Sif's Remembrance] Aenora
[Shiver] Myrrh

Thanks to all who helped with learning the encounter, and those who couldn't see the encounter but were there to help if necessary.  (A special thanks to those who were available on the night where the event was canceled.)

Attendance: Alamexia, Aenora, Andien, Cauchy, Cures, Darkshany, Galise, Guran, Myrrh, Norrel, Zardoom

In other news, Bloodforged has defeated the first two encounters in Trial of the Crusader on 10 and 25-man modes.  Lord Jaraxxus was killed on the second try on 10-man, and the first try on 25-man!
25-man FL+4 Defeated!
Eh, no pun.  Deal with it!

Well, that wasn't that bad at all!  This fight is much harder (and luck dependant) on 10-man.  In 25-man Ulduar on the third attempt of the night we defeated Flame Leviathan with all 4 of the orbital defenses online.  I honestly thought we'd wipe a lot more, but I shouldn't think such things.

We then killed a lot of Ulduar bosses (we cleared up to Kologarn) and got a lot of orbs and two additional legendary fragments for Cures' mace.  Lots of loot all in one night -- including our first 25-man hard mode loot!  Not bad for one night.

We will definitely do this more often, especially after Yogg-Saron is defeated on 25-man mode!  Congratulations on even more progression!  We're the third guild on the server (second Alliance) to achieve Orbit-uary!

Last Night Loots:
[Fragment of Val'anyr]x2 Cures
[Plated Leggings of Ruination] Alamexia
[Freya's Choker of Warding] Kressara

[Guiding Star] Darkshany
[Veranus' Bane] Rhanetanahhn
[Scepter of Creation] Darkshany
[Pyrelight Circle] Napthara
[Heart of Iron] Pitchifus
[Sigil of the Vengeful Heart] Blitzkriege
[Twisted Visage] Ryuonatomay
[Runed Ironhide Boots] Pitchifus
[Insurmountable Fervor] Zogstra
[Runeshaper's Gloves] Leliona
[Robes of the Umbral Brute] Bertibby
[Wrathstone] Rhanetanahhn
[Malice] Blitzkriege
Yogg-Saron Defeated! 10-man Ulduar Clear! Sarth-3D(10) Defeated!
Yogg-Sarowned!  Edit: Also Sarth-3D(10!)

Needless to say it was a great week for Bloodforged raiding. Not only did we defeat General Vezax on 25-man mode again, we cleared every boss in 10-man Ulduar (save Algalon, he doesn't count) and some of them we're on hard mode! Like the previous news post says, we got FL+4, XT-002, and Hodir hard modes on Tuesday. Then, on Sunday we managed to defeat Freya+1 and Thorim's hard mode. We also had a really smooth normal mode kill of Mimiron and Vezax. Freya+1 was one-shot and Thorim was defeated on the second try after a 2% wipe.

For the rest of night, and into the morning, a group of Bloodforged members faced off with the Old God of Death himself, Yogg-Saron. We wiped on Phase 1... then we started to master it. The clouds are bad. Sara likes to give Cauchy favors... We then wiped on Phase 2. The raid got better and better at defeating the challenges of Phase 2. It was late, but we definitely knew we were close to delivering the fatal blow to a god. On Monday we returned with many of those who had seen the fight, along with two people new to the fight. They learned quickly and we managed to get to Phase 2 easily in nearly every attempt. We then managed to defeat Phase 2... and moved on to the last phase. We happened to wipe, but we knew we could do it. On the fifth attempt we were determined to defeat Yogg-Saron. Clouds in phase 1 were dodged and Guardians were destroyed next to Sara. In phase 2, the "Brain Room" group of Guran, Norrel, Ryuonatomay, and Zardoom destroyed influence tentacles and weren't deceived by Yogg-Saron's illusions. The rest of the raid dealt with the spells impacting all around the raid, freed those who were getting squeezed to death by constrictor tentacles, cleansed many afflictions, and destroyed crusher and corruptor tentacles, all while maintaining their sanity. Then, after the brain of the beast was severely wounded, we entered Phase 3. Immortal Guardians were destroyed with the help of the Keeper Thorim, while damage was placed onto the Old God himself. The team averted their eyes when Yogg-Saron tried to corrupt them, and kept the damage output high. In the end... Bloodforged stood victorious over a fallen god.

On Tuesday, we decided to continue our string of great progression, and snagged Alamexia a Black Drake after defeating Sarth with all three drakes up on 10-man!  Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Thorim Hard Mode and Yogg-Saron Loot:
[Abaddon] Ishar
[Kingsbane] Guran
[Chestguard of the Wayward Vanquisher] Kethisar
[Sif's Remembrance] Kressara

Congratulations on some awesome progression!

If you are planning on going to the real life guild meet-up that we are planning, would the weekend of Nov 20 be good for you? We know it is close to Thanksgiving.

Yes, that's fine.

I can make it, but I'd rather it be another time.

No, that weekend is pretty terrible for me. If you moved it I probably could go.

No, that weekend is pretty terrible for me, but I don't think it'll work out for me anyways no matter what.
