This Past Week in Raiding
Much destruction was brought upon the denizens of Karazhan and Zul'Aman. Gruul also fell to Bloodforged in an one-shot kill.

One team cleared Karazhan in only two days, only suffering a slight hitch on Aran. They prevailed and fully cleared Medivh's Tower. Another group, instead, went into Zul'Aman to get kicked in the teeth for a while. The bear boss and eagle boss (Nalorakk and Akil'zon) are pretty much farm status. Bloodforged almost completed the first timed event reward for Nalorakk -- he was at like 12% when the timer ended, qq! We spent most of our time learning the Jan'alai (dragonhawk) fight, and although we didn't actually defeat him, we have figured out the pulls leading up to the boss and the boss nearly died on numerous attempts.

On Sunday, a few of the members from Zul'Aman, along with a few members who didn't go to Karazhan and an alt stormed Karazhan again with a hilarious group setup. We had 1 ranged DPS throughout most of the raid. This melee force just tore Karazhan a new one (especially Curator and Aran.) Curator almost died on the first evocate. We cleared all the bosses, only wiping once on Illhoof (but nearly killing him all the same, without a warlock, by the way) and once on Prince because infernals are fun. So... we cleared the entirety of Karazhan (sans Animal boss, which totally counts, I'm sure) in one night.

I must mention our Netherspite kill. We did it after Prince, and it was getting extremely late. Llaren had to go to bed, and instead of looking for someone else and filling the spot, we decided to just 9-man Netherspite with a non-stacked group. We had two healers, one of them a "main" healer (Dig) and one of them a ret pally (Barbero.) We set up beam transitions and were doing okay for a while in the fight. Healing was pretty rough, but it was getting done. Netherspite was under 10% when Kaidageoff (Shalfougi's alt) missed the green beam after a banish transition and yelled "Crap!" over Vent. He rushed to get back to it, but it was too late, Netherspite was at 30% health, which we felt signaled a wipe. But we kept going. Through the AoE damage, netherbreaths, and sheer length of the fight, people started dropping. Netherspite's health continued to drop. In the end, Alamexia, Myrrh, Kaidageoff and Diggerl 4-manned Netherspite from 30% to dead with fantastic beam work and healing. We had 15 seconds before the enrage. 4-manned from 30% to 0%. Nice.

9-man Netherspite... Karazhan is truly farm status. Grats on the 22 badges!

Loots from my raids (I believe I got it all, if not, please comment. Also, I'm not sure on what Baal's group all got.)

Zul'Aman Begins
Bloodforged charged into Zul'Aman for the first time last night, intent on slaying many trolls. Hatred for the forest trolls was high enough that we were able to form two raids!

Everyone quickly learned the meaning of pain, as we pushed our way into untested territory. The scripted events, combined with the sense of urgency from the timed quests brings a new level of excitement.

Both raids did very well. Kothos' group ran into some trouble on Nalorakk, but was able to learn and defeat the various mobs leading up to him (some say harder than the boss!). Alamexia's group had a little more luck, able to take down Nalorakk after getting smacked down a few times by the guards ("hey, think we should use cc?").

After Nalorakk was down, Alamexia lead his team onward towards Akil'zon. After a few attempts at the non-stop-action path leading to his temple, we were able to test Akil'zon for the first time. Alamexia: "run towards" ... boom ... "um, everyone is dead." After learning the encounter (wipe, wipe, wipe) and coming up with a workable plan ("let's not wipe"), everyone did very well and Akil'zon was dead.

Congrats to everyone. Zul'Aman is a step beyond Karazhan and we did amazing for our first night. Hope everyone had fun!

Gruul loots!
With a few guests, we went to Gruul's Lair and killed Maulgar and Gruul on our second attempts. It was great, considering the fact we were close to canceling the raid altogther and we had a lot of new players and non-guildies.

Gruul and Karazhan clear in just two days
Congratulations on two full clears! Karazhan was all one-shot, except Prince, who fell on the third attempt. Gruul was slain on the second attempt and Maulgar was killed on the first attempt of the night. We haven't attempted Magtheridon lately, but we will head back into his lair and kill him when the time is right and we get some more bodies. If I miss any loot, just yell at me.

Gruul dies again
We were missing a lot of regulars tonight, but we still went and destroyed Gruul's Lair. HKM was one-shot, and Gruul died on the 5th try. We had a lot of bad shatters, and there was some new faces to the battle. It was great that we still prevailed even when our turnout wasn't the best, taking friends and other potential recruits in to test their mettle. Everyone in the raid is Bloodforged caliber, and I hope some of them apply who haven't already! Tomorrow, we murder Karazhan. Next Friday, we're going to pass on Gruul's Lair on Friday and just work on Magtheridon the whole night. Next week, Mag dies. (Saturday will be reserved for Gruul)

If you are planning on going to the real life guild meet-up that we are planning, would the weekend of Nov 20 be good for you? We know it is close to Thanksgiving.

Yes, that's fine.

I can make it, but I'd rather it be another time.

No, that weekend is pretty terrible for me. If you moved it I probably could go.

No, that weekend is pretty terrible for me, but I don't think it'll work out for me anyways no matter what.
